monitor employee internet use

The touchy subject of whether an employer should have the right to monitor employee internet use is on that certainly has two sides to it. Both parties have rights but surely at the end of the day the employer is the one paying the bills ad taking all the risks. The key I suppose is in how far those rights extend to spy on an employee. In a perfect world trust would be enough between both parties.

It could be argued that someone who has nothing to hide should not be concerned and I subscribe to that view in a general way. If it extended to ome kind of draconian time and motion study,  it may be taking things a biot far however. Of course, if the employer has reasonable grounds for thinking his employess is doing the wrong thing then that changes things as well .
